Blind Genius

A sorely missed Canadian, another one who lost the battle with cancer - Wikipedia says he was a hot-jazz performer. (jazz that is emotionally charged and intense and marked by strong rhythms and improvisation).

A Bob Dylan tune

An excellent version of a Doors classic

Jeff Healey was a very familiar performer to audiences here in Toronto. Mr. Healey became world reknown as a blues guitarist, but he was also a fine trumpet player and one of the most knowledgable people about 1920s jazz around. He had a radio show in the Toronto area focusing on these jazz classics which I found very informative and entertaining. Check out the CD It's Tight Like That by Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards.

Thanks I've listened to that after your recommendation - with Chris Barber as well. I'd like to hear him on the trumpet
