Teaching the Blues: Howlin' Wolf - Little Red Rooster

I love this YouTube clip because you can hear Howlin' Wolf teaching musicians (that today we think of as being great) how to play the blues standard "Little Red Rooster."

It seems like the blues are very easy to play, so you may wonder what all the fuss is about. But I think this clip shows a master bluesman showing willing students how to really play the blues.

I think Eric Clapton is the bluesman that he is today, because he spent a lot of time learning from the classic blues artist. That and the fact that he is an awesome talent.

This CD is probably more for the fan of blues rock than the fan of the classical blues fan. The band in this case was Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. A great session band if you can get them. Either way though if you are a blues fan or a rock and roll fan.
