Scrapper Blackwell was born February 21, 1903 and he died on October 7, 1962. He was a blues guitarist, singer and half a guitar-piano duo with Leroy Carr in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He played acoustic single-notes in the Chicago blues and Piedmont blues style.
