Charles Brown (September 13, 1922 – January 21, 1999), born in Texas City, Texas was an American blues singer and pianist whose soft-toned, slow-paced blues-club style influenced the development of blues performance during the 1940s and 1950s. He had several hit recordings, including "Drifting Blues" and "Merry Christmas Baby".

It appears that a DIFFERENT bluesman by the name of Brown - Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown - had Hurricane Ike wash his grave and casket away over the weekend. Exactly three years after his death following Hurrican Katrina. Bizarre.

Thanks so much for sharing this info. I have posted on Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown several times, he is one of my favorites. It is sad to hear that his resting place has been disturbed.
