Today is the birthday of B.B. King. He was born Riley B. King on September 16 in 1925. That makes him 83 years old. He is one of the senior bluesmen alive today.

I could go on and on about him, becuase I truly do love him, his music and have seen him live many times. So I'm going to keep this one short, by saying "Happy Birthda Mr. King."

Happy Birthday Mr. King, indeed. I was just listening to the Cook County Jail recordings the other night. Such intense music.

Also, I just found your blog for the first time today and may I say thank you!! You don't even begin to realize what a lifeline you've thrown me. I look forward to digging deep in the archives.

Oh yeah! I saw him only once, in the 70s, Winterland, SF.....Van Morrison and BB (after the Thrill came out. He played a few instrumentals that were fantastic, and made me wonder why he never did more.

Found a concert he gave at Fillmore west at the same time, so still listen once a week on my ipod at work.

Cheers 2 ya! ; )

Um, according to Canadian math, he's 83. Hey did you see my shout-out to you a few days ago?

seven days, welcome aboard. I hope you find something you like, and if not let me know and I'll see what I can do.

stephen bess, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. That is one of my favorite songs by BB.

coffee messiah, cheers to you too my friend. Sounds like a great time to have heard him, back in the seventies he was playing at full force.

mister anchovy, can you believe that I did not see it until just now. And not only do I read you blog and follow it, I also read it in Google Reader sometimes.

And thanks for the correction, I don't know where I came up with 88. I guess I was thinking of my grandmother.
