It's the Birthday of Charles Brown

Charles Brown (September 13, 1922 – January 21, 1999), born in Texas City, Texas was an American blues singer and pianist whose soft-toned, slow-paced blues-club style influenced the development of blues performance during the 1940s and 1950s. He had several hit recordings, including "Drifting Blues" and "Merry Christmas Baby".

It appears that a DIFFERENT bluesman by the name of Brown - Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown - had Hurricane Ike wash his grave and casket away over the weekend. Exactly three years after his death following Hurrican Katrina. Bizarre.

Keep up the great posts.

Thanks so much for sharing this info. I have posted on Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown several times, he is one of my favorites. It is sad to hear that his resting place has been disturbed.
