Feel Like Going to Chruch: Jesus is on the Mainline
I posted this a month ago or so, and did not include the video. So here goes with the video this time. LOL.
This video is one of those rare gems that makes me want to clap my hands, just like my grandmother used to do when she said she was getting happy.
Notes from YouTube:
From "Ry Cooder & The Moula Banda Rhythm Aces: Let's Have A Ball", a
film by Les Blank taped at The Catalyst, Santa Cruz, CA on March 25'th
1987. Awesome solo's by George Bohannon and Ry using slide on
mandoguitar! (that was a first for me)
Comment from MrBillindallas:
Concert
was from a two night run - the last of nine total dates on the NorCal
tour. Shot on 16mm film with an audio remote truck in the alley. Movie
was released in Europe but not in the US. Great band, at one of the best
venues in the 'States, the last two nights of the mini-tour they were
truly on fire. One venue was so small the band filled the stage and the
dance floor.

Down At The Field - Ry Cooder
Telegraph
Stunning songs of protest from American guitar legend Ry Cooder ...... The lyrics are bitingly satirical - "with champagne and shrimp cocktails/and that's not all you find/there's a billion dollar bonus/and no banker left behind" .... “These times call for a very different kind of protest song. ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone?’ We’re way down the road from that.” If protest is what you want, Cooder has delivered it magnificently.1. Too Tight This Rag of Mine 2. You ve been Doing Something Wrong (I Can Tell By the Way You Smell) 3. Blind Man Messed Up By Tear Gas 4. Instrumental 5. How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live 6. Slow Consumption 7. Forget That Folding Bridge 8. Fool for a Cigarette/Feelin Good 9. Crazy Bout an Automobile 10. Feelin Like a Submarine (Kentucky Blues) 11. Don t take everybody to be a Friend 12. The Tattler 13. One Meat Ball 14. Preacher 15. Vigilante Man from the 70's

Taj Mahal Leavin Trunk
From the comments section: According to notes at YouTube it is from "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus." This was a hell of a band fronted by Taj Mahal, with Jesse Ed Davis, Ry Cooder, and Chuck Blackwell.

Taj Mahal - Leaving Trunk
I really like Taj Mahal's cover version of Sleepy John Estes' song Milk Cow Blues which appears on Taj Mahal's, 1968 eponymous album, Taj Mahal, titled Leaving Trunk.
The video clip below, I believe, is from the The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. It is very cool because it also features Jesse Ed Davis, Ry Cooder et al kicking ass and taking names.
WAKE UP MAMA,
I GOT SOMETHIN TO TELL YOU
YOU KNOW I'M A MAN
WHO LOVE TO SING THE BLUES
Here's the lineup according to the liner notes: Jessie Edwin Davies,(sp) lead guitar; Ryland P. Cooder, rhythm guitar; James Thomas, bass; Sanford Konikoff, drums; Taj Mahal, harp
