This is my first exposure to P.J. Harvey. Wow, she's really got something going there, doesn't she?
Many years ago, back in the 80s, I had a chance to see Koko Taylor play live in Toronto at a joint called Albert's Hall, upstairs in another joint called The Brunswick House. I was kind of expecting it to be formulaic Chicago Blues, which I suppose it was, but her personal charisma and powerful voice and presence made it a really great, fun show.
I have enjoyed listening to PJ Harvey for a long time - she has been on the English Scene for a while. She is rather special but experiments - so she has gone through a number of genres.
Charismatic live performances are the essence of life? - shows why all those reality shows are such rubbish. Done all your Christmas shopping?
Best wishes
Ron
