Interesting cut. Sonny Terry is unmistakable and you can sure hear the influence Mr. Fuller had on Sonny Terry's later partner, Brownie McGhee. Blind Boy Fuller sounds just a little rougher around the edges. It seems to me Blind Boy Fuller recorded some cuts with a scrub-board player as well...or is my memory of records past playing tricks on me?
Both Washboard Slim (Robert Young) and Bull City Red (George Washington) played washboard for both Fuller and Brownie. Red recorded with Fuller from 1935-39 and Brownie in 1940 & 41. Brownie actually performed under the name Blind Boy Fuller II for a while after his death, so the influence, while clearly everlasting, may have been contrived at the start.
