This Rice Miller (Sonny Boy Williamson II) song has been on my mind as of late.

Man, he was just so good it scares me. I love that line, "please cut out that off the wall jive". Nasty little song, though, isn't it. It reminds me of the Albert "Pat" Hare tune, "I'm going to Murder my Baby" In life Mr. Hare did in fact murder his girlfriend, and died in prison. Do you know Pat Hare's stuff? He was associated with cats like James Cotton and Ike Turner in Memphis in the 50s, and he played really grungy distorted killer guitar that I'm a real sucker for.

mister anchovy, you have a point. This is one of those low down blues songs, but that is the kind of blues that I like the most. One of my favorite lines by Sonny Boy II is when he says, "If you whip her when she needs it the judge will not let you explain." And as well it should be.

While I would not harm a hair on the lovely Mrs. F's head, like most married men, I understand the sentiment.
