When we had our coffeehouse in Wabash indy-anna between '99 - '03, there was a blues club around the block (one of the reasons we decided to give busy-ness a try) called Blooeys and E Clearwater played there and was fantastic. The owners only charged $5.00, 9:30 - 1am and it was never full, unless the young white players showed up. We saw Chico Banks before he got semi-famous. After hearing one of his CDs, we really liked his early work. He reminded us of Hendrix was he was doing with his guitar and how he played the blues.

Cheers!

I've had the pleasure of hearing Mr.Clearwater perform a few times over the years Back in the 80s he came up to Toronto two or three times. Later, when he had his club in Wicker Park in Chicago, I was fortunate enough to attend a couple of his shows as well. He's a really entertaining performer and quite a guitar player too. The comparison to Hendrix is likely because he plays his guitar left-handed with the high strings on top.

If he came up to Toronto tomorrow, I'd be at the show for sure.
