Sunnyland Slim

His stage name came from a song he composed about the Sunnyland train that ran between Memphis and St. Louis, Missouri.

Many years ago - I think it was in the early to mid-80s - Sunnyland Slim came up to Toronto and performed upstairs at the old Brunswick House on Bloor St, a room that was known as Albert's Hall. At that time, they brought in the best of the best blues performers from Chicago and we got a chance to hear these fantastic musicians in a club setting.

Sunnyland Slim's show was great. One tune I recall him playing was Be Careful How You Vote (because the one you vote for just might let you down).

Thanks for sharing this music - it's great to hear him play again.

Thanks Eugene for the information - lucky you to have seen him live. I'll re listen to that track immediately.
