I saw Eric live a few years ago in a tiny venue in Glasgow - The Renfrew Ferry. It was a fantastic venue for his laid back style.
He had a beautiful Dobro on stage but only picked it up when he announced he was about to play the last song. At that point someone shouted out a request. So he put the Dobro back down and played the song the chap asked for. I still can't decide if I'm miffed because he didn't play the Dobro or impressed that he responded to the request from (a slightly inebriated) fan. :-)
Who needs church when you have all the best gospel music available, without having to get dressed up?
